No because the benefits are NOT short term and the economic ruin is NOT long term IF there are policies such as retraining programs, low-cost education, etc.
I never pegged you as a bleeding heart liberal but I suppose you learn something new every day.
Restraining programs? You mean what? Runaway profits for outsourcing? The ability of the Chinese government to cut off our ability to supply ourselves with medical masks from our own factories in China during a virus China caused? I'm confused. Please expand.
Low cost education? You mean gender studies degrees that provide absolutely zero economic benefit and cost six figures to obtain? The state-funded schools that actively promote those degrees? I'm more confused than ever.
Help me out here brother, nothing you're saying makes sense! You claim me to be a bleeding heart liberal, but you seem to take up their talking points. Holy fuck mate, what happened?!

Lol take your own classes. To quote you from earlier "I'm not your bitch im not doing your research for you". You can go to the same law school and get the same lecture.
I took your example and made it specific and turned it into a counterargument that proved my point in the first place.
The modern definition of corporation came about with free market fundamentalism which isn't that old of an ideology/faith.
Now the firm exist solely to add value for shareholders.
I asked my wife, who was educated in Germany. She's never heard of businesses who needed to prove worth to society prior to incorporation either.
I really need some kind of basis for research here. You've not even provided context. What nation, what time period, just what what what?
