Yaya check my edit as well babycakes harden’s fg was 44.2 vs jordan’s 48.2

Basically what this shows is mj was a much better shooter taking a more thankless shot (the midrange) given the lack of info on the 3pt shot in that era analytics have

How does a computer calculate into this equation hand checking, flagrant fouls that were considered common back in the 90's

Also MJ wasn't just an offensive juggernaut he played exceptional defense something James Harden never will do

MJ didn't need a 3 PT shot if he were in this era he would've developed one because hes a student of the game

Until the 2001 season zone defense or anything remotely resembling it was illegal. Guys had to defend on their man outside of the paint even if they couldn't shoot from there. It opened the paint up a lot more than people realize...far different than today's game.

Now bigs can lurk in/around the paint and just protect the rim if their man isn't a threat outside.
