its not about that. There is always camps full of shit and 3 shamans... maybe ok if you just want rune drops but not ideal if you hunt for rare uniques etc

I don’t get what your insinuating? A Barb that focuses on elites/champs exclusively is the most efficient set/unique finder period.

E: even if you’re playing a Sorc in AT etc it’s nice that you clip some extra mobs with Blizzard but you still emphasize hitting elites/champs as quickly as possible.

I get that normal monsters (the ones I compared) are 42 times less likely to drop rare unique items but they can.

If you're trying to build the 100% most efficient character to do pit runs offline and you're not thinking about the normal monsters, I would suggest that you rethink that.

If you "clip" 43 extra monsters in a run, that's more than an extra unique monster worth of drop chances each run.

This has been “thought” about for quite a while, pit zerker and pindle zerker are potentially the most efficient builds in the game for unique/set farming (depending on what you want), and neither of them are concerned with mobs outside of Pindle and elites/champs in pit. AT Sorc can come close but you shouldn’t be clearing everything on the map if you want to be efficient..

I get pindle, but I really find it hard to believe that the pit zerker is better than a blizz sorc doing AT.

I'm assuming this is due to find item?

I never said you should clear everything on the map for offline play.

good example of a guy who is lacking knowledge of the game and trying to be smart

Ever heard/tried pit berserk barb with enigma/finditem? Nothing comes even close to this if you want those rare uniques

Pit zerker has been proven to be better than AT blizz sorc and IIRC the leaderboard for competitive runners on the other forum has an AT conc barb ahead of every sorc in efficiency as well. Find Item is stronk.

I've tried berserk builds before and they're really bad and not fun to play.

The only thing the character has going for it is find item and I'm incredibly surprised that a completely awful character is faster because of find item.

I'm assuming that the character should also be MF stacked extremely far into diminishing returns.

If it's faster it's faster but I would like to see the numbers to back it up.

Do you have a link to that?

I found it.

That seems extremely flawed to me as they're evaluating the efficiency based upon the number of the champion pack/unique monster kills over time and not based upon aggregated item drop chances (over time.)

That's going to make the barbs seem a lot better than they actually are because they're not killing anything but unique monsters and champions, whereas other characters like zons and CE/Novamancers will be killing dozens of monsters in the process of the clear.

Will that aggregate drop chance add up to find item? Probably not but not factoring it in gives barbs a large perceived advantage that in reality isn't as big.

You would have to kill something like ~22 monsters in the time it takes to use find item each pack, but I find it hard to believe CS isn't more damage than berserk and that you wouldn't have time to throw a few javs into the more densely packed monsters to increase the efficiency.

The advantage is definately not as big as you're making it out to be.

Barb has no immunes to deal with, teles as fast as sorc, has find item.

I personally prefer sorc but would agree barb would get more drops
