Now that everyone has arrived some things surely have to happen. The first episode was a lot of travel.

The episode will likely revolve around Theon and Jaime's storylines

I loved the first episode, not sure why it is getting so much hate. Such a tense episode seeing all the characters interact in the North for the first time. Seeing bran be all like "waiting for an old friend" then that Jamie entrance at the end like 20 minutes (or like 8+ hours in world) later and bran still sitting there, waiting for Jamie. That one throw away line is such good set up and pay off tbh.

Yeah it was good. It was mainly a setup episode though is my point.

Didn't mean you specifically disliked it, I've just seen a lot of comments about how it was boring and shit. I thought they did a good job.

I'm really confused by GoT fans in general though. Like in action episodes they are all "omg this is supposed to be a political show, why so much fighting" and in the political episodes they are like "omg why was there no action? Wtf so boring".

I think a lot of people watch shows for epic moments so the more in-depth story stuff goes right by them and they don't notice (or maybe respect) the intricacies.

Epic moments can include action but also things like clever dialogue or appearances that change the flow of the show (like Jaime appearing at the end)

Tbh most people are just dumb though.

I don't know if you watched the commentary the showrunners did about the episode. It was pretty neat, they pointed out a lot of intricate moments.

Like the opening scene where the child is running to see the procession and Arya moved out of the way to let him see, and how it basically mirrored the first episode where Arya was young and trying to see the procession in s01e01.
