Ended up seeing this spur of the moment with a mate. I had zero expectations going in but was very pleasantly surprised. I was entertained the whole movie and I thought they did a great job and spending time developing the characters to actually make me give a shit. To anyone contemplating watching I don’t think you need to see in theater but would wait til HD copy. I didn’t even know it was based off a manga, I might check that out. I agree the trailers were just trash, try not to let that give you preconceived notions though. Rotten tomatoes score is whatever but tbh I put minimal stock in that after the likes of TLJ and WW with their inflated scores. Would recommend

Okay... only watching like the first 5-7 minutes of the movie, which is actually a just a cam rip of the movie.

The human / CGI and graphical concept of the movie is actually well done... I don't care for the story line concept vs the animation or manga concept.

I base the ingenuity from converting it from say a comic, manga, anime to be quite good... look at all the other crap we watch based on Marvel and DC comics, the funny thing is, the comic version of Spiderman is serious, whereas the cartoon is funny, but then they make the movies including spiderman as being a dumb little kid in the avengers segments.

This isn't a bad movie... it may not meet your requirements based on the anime or manga you have read, but, the contrast of making it more realistic virtually is pretty damn good.

PG-13? Give me a break.

This movie was definitely not made to be PG13. Not sure how they got away with that. It literally shows someone getting cut in half. Maybe you just need excessive swearing and nudity to be higher nowadays.

But I don't care what gets remade. What I care about is the quality of the finished product. And this was quality.

Your prerogative really. Watching a trailer is like reading the back cover of a book, you get a little detail and that's that. Okay, maybe you watched the old anime or read the manga, but, this is a movie. I think you have something against Hollywood or big movie makers, yeah they make mistakes, so what, don't read into a movie / show and expect it to be like the Manga or Anime.

As for the PG 13 thing, there is a group of people that influence the Rating Age, and some of them are so damn pedantic, it isn't funny, even to the point of a female fertility statue with big boobs in some auction and they cried for R15 ... damn it just looked like a Buddha statue to me, didn't even know it was a fertility statue of a woman.

I like the mix results of like & dislike.

Seems like alot of people disliked it before they actually end up watching it.
