Was entertaining (havent watched the anime yet) but the ending was abrupt.

They get to volume 5 in the movie. And the movie was like 2.5 hrs. There is going to be a 2nd

they did a great job with this. pacing was on point. story was great. cant wait to see part 2.

Box office sales arent doing too great...there may not be a sequel

Aint never seen anything about Alita but this movie was awesome, really enjoyed it.

That's not how anything works lol. If they don't make enough money, the project gets canceled and that's that.

People are overreacting to the numbers tbh and not looking at the entire picture.

"Omg it only made $xx at the box office opening weekend" well it still topped the box office so it must have been a slow weekend for movies in general. Plus it saw a like 5x increase over opening day which is pretty good actually. Not to mention none of this accounts for non-usa numbers.

Also it's a new film so obviously people are hesitant considering the most recent SciFi trash that have been released (cough mortal engines), but it's getting good reviews so I bet the numbers will grow over it's theater life.

Looks like critics hated it, but people loves it. Fan reviews have been insanely positive. I'm curious what the discontent there was. Might be worth steaming when an HD copy is available.

Ofc people freak out when the money isn't there and the film is setting up a sequel. Loads of movies that were clearly setting up a sequel or a franchise, never happened because the studio didn't make enough on the first installment. It sucks when it happens, but it happens a lot.

The few articles I've read by critics have called it pleasantly surprising. I haven't read a lot though.

It was a high 5x, low 6x when I checked RT last, but maybe it's gone up.

User ratings were like 93% positive, with an average 4.25/5 rating though. User ratings are always high for action blockbusters though, so I take that with a grain of salt.
