I know Xerath is probably the next closest, but who has has solid waveclear, range, and great team fighting like Vel?

He's not banned often, but I need a pocket pick or two that I can feel comfortable on just in case.

I like Morgana mid because of her wave clear and self peel, but she needs to roam and get picks after shoving, similar to Malz, and her TF is all about locking down enemy carries, rather than blowing everyone up.

Not too many mages with high range though, azir comes to mind for decent ranged harass in lane cept he's in a weird spot
I would honestly play taliyah.

I really do like lux, but she's so mana hungry early. Ori is pretty solid I suppose.

so are the other champs but u arent meant to constantly spam shit

she really isn't, velkoz costs are just too low
