lol that district manipulation totally needs looking into
i think in those districts/areas they are used to just running their own show, but with the proliferation of enhanced interest in the political realm from internet users and television watchers from every side, and their modern ability to weight in on the issues via chitstagram and chitter and chitbook and of the like, definitely it will need addressing to

Republicans defeat Green New Deal in U.S. Senate vote Democrats call a stunt

There's definitely some shenanigans going on, fueled by the Dems in this case.
I'm kind of surprised that the authors and defenders of the Green New Deal, must think that the US has it's own private air, and therefore climate.
The jet stream moves from east Asia towards the US, yet the Dems are blaming strange weather conditions on industry in the US.
It pretty much doesn't matter what the US and/or Europe does...unless China and India are willing to play ball... the Green New Deal is just a waste of time that will cause severe damage to the middle class.

Interesting arguments on BOTH sides. ^^

gerrymandering is a big deal, but the supreme court hasnt ruled on it yet - and since they already "punted" a very similar case last fall, it is rather unlikely that they will issue a definitive ruling in one direction or the other this time around.

the senate vote against the green new deal is indeed mostly for show, although its comforting to see that insanity like the GND has a long way to go before it has any chance at passing congress, dont get me wrong.

i don't think the GND failing votes will change anyone's mind on anything about america's involvement in climate change.
the people that actually support the GND, are the insane far-left cultists. actually believing a global heat-death is coming within decades.

it's been proven that cortez is not liked by majority moderate democrats. this is why her invitations to left-wing media has dropped, yet she's still floating around because she keeps doing dumb things.
the "moderate" dem's knew this was a failure plan. even if they provoke the same aspirations, i don't think most believe it can all be done within 10-12 years.

i obviously have numerous opinions about each aspect of this GND, but i think i'm done trying to talk about these subjects as a whole.
i will not miss not hearing about the GND in the future.

i don't know enough about subject 2 to comment much. in the site you linked "kavanaugh" brought up good points for "both" sides.
even if both sides of the bench were fully biased with their votes... i believe kavanaugh will bring a fair and well-thought-out vote.

U.S. presidential candidate Klobuchar calls for trillion-dollar infrastructure plan

To pay for the investments, Klobuchar said she would commit more than $650 billion in federal funding for infrastructure, partly by changing parts of the tax overhaul legislation passed in 2017 to adjust the corporate tax rate to 25 percent.

Suburban Florida mayor announces Democratic bid for U.S. presidency

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-messam/suburban-florida-mayor-announces-democratic-bid-for-u-s-presidency-idUSKCN1R91TA

Quote
(Reuters) - A little-known mayor of a Miami suburb announced his bid to become president of the United States on Thursday, joining an already crowded field of Democratic candidates vying to become the party’s nominee in 2020.

Wayne Messam, 44, son of Jamaican immigrants, joins an unusually diverse slate of 15 other Democrats seeking to unseat President Donald Trump, the likely Republican nominee, in November 2020. The field includes the first openly gay candidate, six women, a Hispanic man and a Samoan-American congresswoman, among other minorities.

Messam defeated a 16-year incumbent in 2015 to become the first black mayor of Miramar, which has a population of about 122,000. He was re-elected in March.

O'Rourke to rally in his native Texas, where tough 2020 presidential primary awaits

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-orourke/orourke-to-rally-in-his-native-texas-where-tough-2020-presidential-primary-awaits-idUSKCN1RA10L

Quote
(Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke will hold campaign rallies on Saturday in his home state of Texas, where he faces far different challenges in the 2020 race from those of his underdog U.S. Senate run in 2018.

Quote
O’Rourke’s campaign hopes the former congressman’s personal ties to delegate-rich Texas give him a critical early boost in the large Democratic field fighting for the party’s nomination to challenge Republican President Donald Trump.

But the primary is hardly a lock for the native son.

knives are out for Joe Biden this week

isn't it just amazing how consistently the media manages to kneecap each candidate right as/before they announce their bid, overshadowing their announcement and leaving it as the lasting impression
horizontal harris, salad comb klobuchar, creepy joe biden, etc etc
at least warren & o'rourke already had their skeletons out in the open

Wonder if Biden will survive the accusations against him?
