Kind if ironic. Playing one of the least contact sports on the side when you play in one of the most injury riddled us "a big no no" (really like talking to a child lmao)

Where in my contract does it say i cant do this? Go fuck yourself. Thats what i would say.

* makes sense, i remember when ryan clady lost a yr of his prime cuz he tore a pec playing pick up. However its still lame

Eh I can understand it, you just signed this qb who had an outstanding year and has shown great potential. They are wanting to ensure that their investment in said qb continues to pay off. Trying to mitigate any unnecessary injuries that he may get. Yes, of course football is a much higher contact sport but its also the sport he's being paid to play in, pickup basketball isnt

Yes this is where fans need to understand that "getting paid to play football" doesnt put these guys' lives into perspective whatsoever. They are physically and mentally committed to this job and it goes beyond their personal lives... Like how fame isnt all its cracked up to be either is living your life COMPLETELY around football so they can toss you aside after you give your body to the game

I mean, they're also financially compensated pretty well for it. That and they know that going into it, it's not a shock to them that football will be their life and they potentially could have life altering injuries while playing etc. It's just a part of it.

Oh yes and luckily hes a qb and a star one at that.

My argument is more for guys that last 5 yrs and dont get paid nearly what Patty gonna get in his career

Yeah like they say closer to the ball, closer to the money lol but even practice squad dudes get paid 6 figures. Again, it's time consuming and can potentially injure you but to play a sport you love and get paid doing it (potentially setting yourself up for life in the short career) seems like a solid gig. My only thing is these players that declare for the draft early, I think college is super important for them to fall back on and always hope they get a degree still

Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles playing basketball after his DPotY season. Thankfully we won the SB that year anyway, but it still sucked.

I'll never fault a franchise for wanting to protect their investment.

I am certain Suggs never tore his ACL as a Raven. He's torn his Achilles (twice) and biceps in recent years though.
