The NY subsidy would of been around 3 billion.
The revenue generated to the state was estimated to be around 27.5 billion over 25 years.
Let’s say that we don’t want to use that estimate but go off salaries. Let’s say average wage of the 25000 people would of been 100k
100*25000= 2.5 bil
So in less than 2 years the earnings revenue would exceed the subsidy.
A company wouldn’t be looking to build a hq unless they were commited to being there for quite awhile.. most certainly more than 2 years.
Rofl actually missed a zero it’s 2.5 billion 100k times 25k people, yeah they royally fucked up. even if the average salary is cut in half to 50k that’s still 1.25 billion per year in salary revenue.

She's an absolute brick, it has been fun to watch.
yeah the increase to pure business output to the area from this would have been quite sizable and would have offset a one-time tax subsidy with ease. not like the increase to gdp generated from ongoing activities is a one-time thing but hey it’s hard to explain this to certain parties
that said the will of
the people a few politicians won out so we should respect their decision
