why even really oc intel now days besides all core, that massive 2% boost if that?

doesnt help it's soldered when the silicon die is so much thicker. you dont rly get results delidding 9900k unless you also sand down the die before applying the liquid metal and even just getting the heatspreader off is much harder than with the toothpaste.

real question is why
I know all core is technically overclock but seriously you arent getting much of a performance boost after that

Derbauer actually was able to get significantly better performance delidding his 9900k. He had a youtube video about it. Essentially Intel used lower quality solder, doesn't transfer heat much better than their toothpaste.

No. The actual quality of the solder is poor. Barely better than their TIM. I dont know enough about the chemical properties, all I know is both he and Steve did videos and got noticable improvements with liquid metal over the solder.
