So we're the number one GDP in the world per capita yet we spend the 4th on education.

You always tend to reinforce my arguments with your arguments against them.

Making sure that schools are funded well does not hurt them.

We’re not number one in gdp per capita. In fact two of the countries in school spending above us are Norway and Switzerland both have higher gdp per capital.

Just watch the video.

I watched it as part of my formal education but wouldn’t do it justice in explaining it. Just watch it it’s really informative for anyone that cares bout issues such as inequality, education, etc.

I'm kind of done with formal education for now...have the terminal degree in my field and am just working on paying that off.

So you’re set in your ways, gotcha. You think I’m a hack subjective, and so on, that’s why I’m giving you recent research on this subject by a guy that has a PhD in Economics and is a professor at Harvard and actually does applied work in the field we’re discussing. Not sure why you refuse to just check it out, it’s actually really informative and the guy is brilliant. He is the youngest African American to receive tenure at Harvard ever.

Things we can do to improve education.

1. Outlaw private schools. This has the practical effect that rich people will immediately lobby to effectively improve public education instead of trying to gut it while sending their kids to private schools.

2. Fix our fucking awful method of distributing funding. We spend a lot on education but its not distributed properly, with the greatest contributor being that property taxes reinforce negative schools for negative areas.

Public schools waste far more money than private. Blaming private schools for the cost problem is like shooting yourself in the foot
