Don't see anything big happening, most likely blow over. To me, what's more interesting is why are the Turks blowing them in? They tend to be fairly aligned on the geopolitical front. Both Sunnis, both don't like Iran. To me, this is a signal that there is more divergence in the two countries agendas.

I think you're lacking vision here.

Seems pretty huge to me, going haywire on social media, the brutality and claimed available evidence is actually influencing corporations in freezing Saudi investments. Trump following suit against Saudi Arabia is unheard of, something the public would have liked to see from western governments for quite some time now. And I actually find myself supporting him in doing so.

Yet, I am hesitant to believe anything substantial on a government level will be accomplished, the trade of oil and warfare is highly profitable, then again, with Trump you never know what you are gonna get.
There is another thought on the issue: if actual repercussions are gonna come from corporations instead of the government. It's gonna at least be extremely awkward, to rely on moral guidance from corporations. Stressing the merit for Trump to actually do something.

100% agree with the bold, but they are too important of an ally for anything meaningful to happen. I mean they've been barrel bombing Houthi kids for a year or two now and where is the western outrage about that? You really think we are going to drop sanctions on one of our strategic allies in the region?

And lol most corporations don't give two shits about human rights. Corporations only feign outrage when there are enough consumers bringing it to their attention. At that point, they will make some public remark condemning whatever simply because if they don't do so then they would lose revenue.

It's similar to the Nike story honestly. All of the sudden they are concerned with how blacks are treated because a lot of their revenue is derived from consumers who are overwhelming on one side of that debate. Meanwhile for years not giving a fuck about child labor or reprehensible working conditions in Nike factories.

So let's hear your take on how this plays out?

Outrage will die down, we will continue to be besties with the Saudis as long as they do our bidding in the ME

Still not much compared with Israel murders (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Israeli_assassinations) giant burger list.

Just the spectacular "saudi touch"

He needs to follow through. I endorse turning Saudi Arabia into a plate of glass. Then Exxon can drill holes in it.

Inb4 nothing is done.

Saudi Arabia is one of the biggest threats to the West long-term. Big exporters of terrorism and radical Islam.

Let the Sauds do what they want and chaos is the result.

Nobody is too important to not keep in line.
