I absolutely hate them, but I'm back at a commercial gym with really shit bars with no Knurling. Last time I squatted with these I got extreme elbow pain, because the bar feels like it's slipping off my back and I push the bar up with my hands because there's no traction onto my back. They also have really shit placements for the rack so I have to bend down low to unrack the bar, then I slam into the rack above it, or go on my tiptoes to unrqck the bar >:( fking hate this part of travelling

Or if it's really this complex for you just do front squats. I know you're doing SS but just replace with front squat won't matter if you're not competing and in my books it's just as good of a movement.

I have the ankle dorsiflexion of a cow. Front squats are a long way off for me :(

I don’t really know anything about the difference in benefits from high bar and low bar squats.

But if you do low bar squats then you are wrong.

honestly, I feel this. I can't squat w/o having my heels raised. Front squats are actually easier for me, though. I feel like because it engages the core more and my back rounds some more like a deadlift. edit: not BAD rounding, but a natural, slight curve of the upper back where as on a back squat I can push into the bar and really keep my back tight. idk, it's easier fuck off LOL

I've been doing trapbar squats lately, though. Stacking 3 plates to stand onand then going from there. Definitely something to at least try once, but it's definitely not the same as a regular squat lol!

You guys should probably work on your mobility if you can’t even squat naturally...

Can’t squat naturally with body weight but throws 300 pounds on back and thinks it’s okay.
