the result is good, unfortunately we played too well and the score was too unlucky to put real pressure on löw. the one time you WANT the french to perform...

maybe the realisation after we're relegated to the next tier (no clue how that works or what that means, just repeating what the commentator has been saying) will spark some flames but i'm not too hopeful to be honest. we should have a second match against the netherlands, right? maybe if we lose that as well?

after a promising first half the second is typical löw shit football

leggo frenchies

thanks for the help mill :)
I have another theory - Germany overachieved and lucked out 2 years ago and their performance last summer is their actual level.

I look at their team and don't see a single player I'd have in the England team.

i know you can't be rational (or even just sane) when it comes to germany, but this one is ridiculous even by your low standards, haha...

WC 2006: 3rd
Euro 2008: 2nd
WC 2010: 3rd
Euro 2012: Semis
WC 2014: 1st
Euro 2016: Semis
WC 2018: 1st round exit

if you really can't identify the outlier here, i actually feel bad for you.
maybe it's projection because if there was one team 'overachieving' this summer, it clearly was england. losing to belgium in the group stage gave you a ridiculously easy draw - and despite only finishing 4th overall, that still was your best result for ages...

It was a sixth defeat in the past 10 games for Low’s squad, who crashed out of the group stages at the World Cup in Russia and remain bottom of their Nations League table with just one point from three matches.

But sure, blame the coach, rather than the players' ineptitude
