I eventually connected my account to steam so I can use my wallet funds for mtx and supporter packs.

Have never had any problem with running it through steam so have no reason to unlink.

tldr: standalone

long story: when i was little, everyone advised my parents to get an apartment in a building that has central heating. so they did! but now, 20 years after that, they raised the prices like crazy and now we have to pay a shitload of money every month for that shit because its legally impossible to cancel central heating as it goes with the building you are in. this is why i have conspiracy theories and always avoid linking anything with anything else :mellow:

Standalone. NOT because of the vastly improved patching times.

that is about the only reason I could think of for using standalone.. no idea why patches through steam are 2x the size, and you can't pre-load the pak files.
servers are never stable at the start of the leagues so by the time i actually download the patches they are just barely stabilizing so I don't feel like its a huge issue.
