Agree with the principals. This is basically 9 to 10 weeks of every 12 week training block. On the final weeks I ramp up with doubles and singles at a high intensity. The bulk of training through is done at a 65 to 85 % intensity and obviously reps are not to failure.

Weeks 1 to three might be 65 % at a desired 24 to 30 total reps
So maybe 3 sets of ten or 4 sets of 6, etc.

Weeks 4 to 7 might be 75 to 80 % with a total desired reps of 18 to 20

So 6 sets of 3 is common.

Weeks 8 to 9 or 10 might be 85 % with total desired reps on a main lift being 12. 6 sets of 2 or something.

Then finals weeks on the 90 % singles and doubles.

Other than that I allow more variation. In weeks 1 through 3 or 4 I might only do deficit deadlifts and pause squats. I find I use less weight allowing for more frequency when I use variations.

Keep training like betas moving shit weight while thinking you’re training smart

“One set at extreme intensity does the muscle building jobit must be stressed that the one final all out set I do takes me to the very limit of my capabilities, if you feel you can attempt a second set then you couldn’t have been pulling out all the stops on the first sets, it’s not pretty but it works.”

He has a very interesting way of coaching but I wouldn't look too much into lifting advice from him. He's a brilliant MMA coach but everything he does is for his MMA fighters. If your goals aren't to compete at the highest level of MMA then there are more optimal coaches for you.

Obligatory take everything you hear with a grain of salt. I think the philosophy of the training can potentially be applied to anything, not just his sport of choice.

The only thing I can see this being irrelevant is if you are on some type of gear.

Some lame ass attempt to set superiority by talking about weight over training smartly then quoting one of the best bodybuilders, didn't even quote a powerlifter or strongman.

You are a mess.

Dorian Yates as a bodybuilder was stronger than 90% of powerlifters, so that’s a pretty irrelevant statement
