So I plan on starting Path of Exile as soon as my download finishes.

Any tips I should be aware of while choosing a class? Brand new so I know absolutely nothing.
I plan on playing quite a bit until I figure it out, thanks for any help at all.

My main reason for playing this is seeing how valuable the currency seems to be.
So my goal = Have a build to help me farm currency at a solid efficiency.

look on the forums find a build that claims to be strong and ssf friendly, follow it, try to understand why it works etc, eventually you'll get to know the passive tree enough to understand what syngergizes with what etc.

and then you'll play elemental hit because its broken and ggg doesnt care

I'd go on the poe website and browse for a build guide that interests you. Make sure its for the correct league too as Hardcore and softcore builds are very different. There is a lot to learn in this game

Yeah I plan on playing each league from here on out. I'm starting nonleague right now just to learn the game so I can start decent next time

First mistake if u choose standard.Always play league.There is still time left.Standard is kind of death always. Also I think flashback league start in 2-3 weeks.
