It's hard to think of tips for someone this early in the game. Almost anything said about the game is a tip
Go in options and read through them to set them up. I like to have items always show sockets so you dont have to hover your mouse to see them. Also map setting etc.
Dont stay in a zone killing a bunch of stuff, it's better to move on to higher levels and progress through the story.
I see too many new people spending time looking for item upgrades that will be upgraded in a few minutes if they just rushed through the story content and gained levels.

Youtube or google info about and get a loot filter, later you will customize it to suit your needs

Poe.trade is an allowed 3rd party website for trading in game items. Check it out. Or use the official pathofexile trade (which released later, so I still use poe trade out of habit not sure which is better tbh)
There are some legal and helpful macros you can use while playing e.g. poetrade macro, lutbot, mercury trade (but these will be useful later on more so than now)
Never mention d2jsp in game or d2jspers names, as using d2jsp is against GGG's Terms, not even when doing a trade. It is standard to trader any rare (yellow text item) for the item you are buying with fg.
Use lightning arrow in sockets that are linked in any item (doesnt need to be your weapon) with lesser multiple projectiles, added cold damage and other skill gems as you progress (see youtube) while leveling your bow character. (You gain access to these in the 2nd half of act 1)
If you can get some fg to buy some leveling gear it will make things much easier for you for only a small fg investment. Heres a youtube video to help layout items and a skill tree
