Education was better and cheaper when it wasnt subsidized. Your plan would make it worse

Your idea is of current education system.

Improving/replacing and giving access is better no matter what way u look at it

I’m in business myself and yeah, it’s pretty hard to come across people who aren’t completely selfish.
I like the ones who admit it and say they value their own short term personal gain above sustainability, but that’s rare.

Greed is a good thing.

I agree with needing some sort of drive - but short term gain is unsustainable.
Easy example is fossil fuels and pollution. Whether or not you know that global warming exists, which it does (it’s a natural thing but we are NOT helping), too many execs and governments make shit tons of money off of oil in a short term gain, versus the long term effects making it unsustainable.
This is science, this is not politics.
Yeah we can talk for hours on how to fix it, but the bottom line is that they don’t give a flying shit because it won’t effect them in their lifetime.

No, my idea is education in the 50's, when you could pay for college on a summer job salary.

Not really. "Access" is higher now than it was 20 years ago and the quality has gone down the toilet.

Paying for college on a summer job salary has to do with economics and how American companies started shipping jobs overseas, WHILE taking tax breaks, devaluing the dollar and, again, getting a short term gain for themselves while it fucks everyone else in the long run.
I’ll prove income inequality for you if you like, using real GDP and real-time ratios.
Well I have to write it all out and take a picture... but I can tell you how to find it. Fuck or I can send my thesis. Idk

It shouldn’t be the same price; inflation.
But it should be around the same REAL cost (real GDP sort of stuff).
But, thanks to private companies and their ventures, we now have the shit rock of an education system where we pay for another country’s education system for their citizens and send our own Americans down the hole of crippling debt.

Throwing a bunch of buzzwords around doesn’t actually mean you know what you’re talking about. What does labor outsourcing have to do with education prices going up?

Price of education has gone up for several reasons. For one the demand for education has gone up. Secondly, the quality and demand for more specialized education also increased the price. Thirdly education has become a business which like all other business tries to maximize profits. Fourthly, inflation cost of living, wage growth & many other variables have contributed to the rise in prices.

Hey, buddy, take the real cost of buying a house in... let’s just say the 70’s even, get the real GDP for the same year. Now take that with the cost of buying a house today and the current GDP and average wage.
Compare the rates. Easiest way to do this is to find the rate of change with the simple equation of x-y/y, where x is the current and y is past.

Oops I actually did it and know what I’m talking about... what a crazy concept.
I went even further as to compare the growth increase (REAL) of the average wage compared to that of CEO’s.
The rate at which it has increased is specifically alarming.
