In fact, in 1080p, D2 even today compared to modern aRPGs still trumps over them easily:

its legit as in its real. you can play high res in singleplayer but its going to zoom farther out the higher res you go. because its just pre rendered images, you cant increase the resolution without it zooming out. it really shows what a good looking game d2 is but they rendered most of assets at a low resolution at the time. if they had all the original 3d assets then they could re render everything and have the game be close up with really good detail

blizzard was originaly going to increase the resolution possible in battlenet but decided against it because it zoomed you out to much and they didnt like how u could see monsters from far yet they dont attack

I played D2 and D3 really a lot...a lot...to much probably

IMO problem with D3:

- lack of proper PVP or arena
- almost zero punishment for bad play (SC)
- punishment for lost of connection (HC). Lost to many HC chars cause of connection...hanging in game although connection is gone
- changing items to often. You found something almost perfect. Next patch it is changed = useless


AH was bust - never liked the concept pay to win

most memorable things from D2 are PVP...some memories stuck forever
