Diablo 2 has more player online but they're pretty much bot, you must be autistic for play pvm in 2018. Pvp is almost dead in eu, 10 retard that think to be half good only because they're the only left.
While D2 was prolly best game ever at his prime, now it limps and that's why many people play it but also play other games.
D3 is a good game, not good for 24/7 but i enjoy it when played in little dosage
