I can empathize for the "farmers" who would have their livelihood taken away, but as long as sufficient relief and transitional aid is provided for them to farm something else. Not a good look for them to compare eating dog meat to a religion

This is absolutely pathetic , we are in a modern era. This shouldn't be happening honestly anywhere in the world. But it is their cultural norms and if they are seriously taking a step to ban it , it is better than not taking any steps at all.

It is totally barbaric and certainly an aberration for such a well developed modern nation as South Korea. It's a classic conundrum of authoritarianism vs liberalism - do you give people the liberty to do what they want, even if its barbaric, or at some point do you step in with an iron fist and put an end to it? Doing it slowly is a good solution

This is what I called a Clash of civilization....can't be helped. That being said, I am optimistic that dog meat consumption in Asia, especially East Asia which includes, China, Korea will follow suit and ban consumption of Dog and Cat meat completely.
