very easy to tell your employees to clock out and keep working - i've worked next to folks that were told to do just that by some obscenely profitable businesses over the years

If I was ever told that by an employer I'd be laughing on my way out the door, and if they fire me I'd draw unemployment as long as I could just to fuck with em.

My mother has lots of experience working with unemployment claims, so I do as well. She basically runs the business she works for, so she has to fight bullshit claims all the time.

Unemployment affects the previous company you worked in the states?

They either pay into the fund and use that when it's needed, or pay it themselves when it's needed.

You have to work there for at least 3 months and make a certain minimum amount over that time period to qualify,but yes if they didn't pay into their unemployment insurance they will end up footing the bill.

immigrants who are new to the country and just happy to get a job don't exactly know their rights
they're happy to have a means to put food on the table and wouldn't want to jeopardize it by stirring up a fuss about unpaid work

That would amount to admiting tax evasion in order to claim EI?
