I can't imagine the formula will change much at all.. why change what ain't broke. There's too much investment in a myriad of side plots for it to suddenly turn into all out battle constantly.

Not constantly of course... but there are going to be some epic fucking battles in the final two seasons. There's going to be some epic fucking battles in the final books as well. It's going to be reminiscent of the battles that started all this shit way back when. Where the dragon was slain etc..

I'm totally ok with there being 1 or 2 episodes that are completely focused around a battle, like they've done in previous seasons (the battle against the free folk on the wall, against Ramsay's army, etc)... those episodes were very well filmed, and having them every now and then is pretty epic and enjoyable, but I'm just hoping it's not like that for half the season or more.

With it being a 7 episode season I'd imagine they'd put that extra budget into making the 1-2 major battle episodes even more spectacular.

I believe they even said something along those lines too.
