Per Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal: AFC Exec says Gronk is still available for trade until a new contract gets done. the article also said this:

disregarding WR's, Gronk should absolutely be the highest paid TE in the league, can't really blame him for wanting more $. I really hope we don't trade him unless we're robbing another team blind, other than that I don't think he should be on the trade block.
