Not sure if it's been mentioned yet. One of my favorite builds is CFKoQ (or even Fury runeword for 5f) + Phoenix Mon + Shaftstop + Bloodfist/Guill/Gores/etc + MAX dex. Cast HoW. This build is good enough to compete with zealots.

Back when I played Bnet, bottom & dupes made it easy enough to keep an expendable supply of eth Fury FKs. Not really "GM" though.

Fort/Storm work better than this armor/shield combo. Phoenix has multiple problems, among them interruption by the spell cast and terrible block.

Nice guide, it’s very well written. Most guides are a pain to decipher compared to this.

In the helm choice section, I’m not certain about some of the jewel choices... you mention Ed/min/Str jewels, wouldn’t that bug the effective damage?

Yes, but you still get a nice buff to your max dmg so it's not a huge biggie for a fury.

Yes and no. You would never use ed/max jewels, but ed/min jewels generally work fine because your integer min damage is usually so low already that the effects of +min are greater than the effects of + ed%

In fact, the only weapon where ed/min jewels are objectively worse than plain 40% ed jewels is with a Grief.

Thanks for the guide. I used to do specifically fury wolfies in the past but never got up to your level. My Friend and I (DreamRunner, since lost touch with him) used to pair up in public games. He would use his ebotz/enigma build or etomb, and I would either use my ebotz fort wolf or my fire claw WOLF (had enough ias that people thought i was fury) and we would run people down.

Made me nostalgic. Time to make another wolf. Lost all of my gear when I deployed but should be able to put something together from this.

Again, thanks everyone for all of the comments, it all helped and made me want to be a better (bad) wolf. :)

It's totally possible to make a usable werewolf for like 1k fg or less

I was theorying on Fury a lot last year and finally built one this year. I've got three big ol'd questions that I haven't been able to wrap my head around. The last time I had a Fury, as opposed to Zeal or Conc, weapons like fools, cruels, imports and hyrbrids were non-existent or subpar so I haven't put much into application yet. Happy to divulge more character specifics via PM. Plus, posting gets this thread, arguably the most helpful S&G thread, back to the top.

Understanding that FK receives a bonus from Dexterity, it makes sense to pump some extra points into Dexterity beyond the requirements for MB for the added defense, attack rating and damage bonuses. Have you done any testing where you'd keep Dexterity closer to or at MB when running FK and using 10/76/45s versus boosted Dexterirty and 3/20/20s?

I based my testing and thinking around targeting a specific overall life threshold and working backwards. Switching from 3x 3/20/20s to 1x 10/76/45 resulted in a loss of 15 life or required an extra 7.5 stat points out of Dexterity and into Vitality.

3/20/20 SCs versus 10/76/45 GC
Vitality/Life is a draw
5.625% Enhanced Damage versus 1 Max Damage
7.5 Dexterity versus 16 Attack Rating
7.7 Dexterity versus 0 Defense Bonus

My thoughts on this are that 3/20/20s reign supreme for their overall value. 10/76/45s provide some extra damage but the drop in attack rating and defense didn't quite make up for it. What do you think?

--

I'm of the opinion that, when dealing with optimal gear, 4 frame fools FK reigns supreme versus both Paladins and Barbarians. This would hold true versus Shaft/Alma Paladins, Prudence/Storm Paladins, Fort/Storm Barbarians and Prudence/Storm Barbarians simply because gunning for hitting as often and as hard as possible with those hits will keep them on the backfoot. Migrating to 5 frame and CBF for damage doesn't compare to the lost attack speed frame. I'm not concerned with Paladins or Barbians that would sway out of those optimal builds (unless it is a Paladin with a top Legendary Mallet in which I would just qq, lick my paws and take the L). Would you agree?

--

Finally, you initially advocated for the use of a strong Fury Pelt. Even with a 2/3/10/40/2 Pelt, why would someone use that over Cerebus (versus Paladins and Barbarians) or Guli (versus Druids or Fort Paladins)?
