#Flames have $4.67-million in cap space next season

No Chucky, No Manly Bread ... When are these moves coming?!

Gotta think Brodie is for sure gone, couple guys sent down to start the year should clear ~$10M which should be plenty for those two. Fro I think stays on the team as much as I didnt think he would be here to start the season.

Your at 4.67 to cap with your full active roster , the obvious names are Frolik and Brodie. If Frolik was moved his 4.3 + the 4.7 would be 9mil and you’d be right up against cap assuming MT signs for between 8.5 and 9.0. I’m sure they’d rather move Brodie because even the 300k extra he clears is that valueable but I’m guessing they are finding out the cost to move him is steeper than the price to move Marleau when the organization had assumed he had positive value.
There’s about 5 teams that need to move 5+ mil in salary out and only 8 teams with that much space left. And not many of them have any reason to take a Brodie or Shatenkirk unless you give them a reason to.
All in all you should be fine since both contracts you need to move are only 1 year tho.

Brodie absolutely has positive value. He was paired last year with the Norris winner, and there was a trade in place for Kadri, essentially one for one, who landed Barrie instead. He's not a cap dump at all, he's sell while he has decent value. If he stays, then that's fine too.

Stone will be bought out, saving 2.3m, I believe. Frolik is a decent player, but we will have to sell low on him just to get some space. Tkachuk sings a 3 year deal at 7.5, book it........

Frolik and Brodie can have positive on ice production vs cap hit value and at the same time have negative trade value due to the fact that there’s an unprecedented number of teams needing cap space and no teams with the cap space to send them to.

But like I said your lucky both are 1yr UFA, unfortunately both have nmc so that makes finding a match tricky.
Also stone buyout saves you 1.6 towards MT , 2.3 off the cap but someone’s gotta take his spot so assuming 700k for his replacement that’s 1.6.
