was just watching a video and was basically saying pierre luc dubois is potentially dealt at or by this upcoming draft if the jets cant extend him he wants to leave and go to a "major metropolis" like montreal/nyr/maybe LA apparently
the vid was saying a team like montreal could do a 1 year offer sheet where the jets are forced to match but are unable to trade him while hes under contract and walks him to UFA

i remember there was rumours jets were one of the teams interested in hayes so they were likely kicking tires on a replacement option if they move PLD which could happen if they are worried of a predatory offer sheet
could be some pretty big moves at this draft sounds like one of the deeper ones and teams want picks

Jets need to get rid of sheifele, wheeler, PLD and helle and finally commit to a rebuild. Being mediocre for 12 years in a row just doesn't cut it, can't believe they extended Chevy.

Jets are fucked, a rebuild is inevitable. Wheeler is done there after next season if not sooner, PLD is going to Montreal, and Schiefele is a pos.

All they have left is Connor

Well, taking a guy like Hayes is a sure fire way to say "hey we wanna go full rebuild", makes sense.

hayes could probably be a 50-60 pt guy with decent wingers thats not bad for a 2C

Maybe before when they weren't planning on rebuilding. Well they can still take him, but it'll be as a cap dump + sweetener.

Helle to Kings makes a lot of sense. They are a young team ready to push and goaltending is their only hole. Not to mention all their tradeable assets.

They could probably get a pick for Wheeler @ 50% as well.

PLD and Scheifele are both losers so get whatever you can for them and start over.

i mean if they wanted to try to be a winning team still dubois was a 60-70 guy its not a big downgrade points wise


i dont think we pay to cap dump him hes not that bad and were going into a rebuild giving up picks/prospects to move him is not likely something they want to do think they would rather ride it out with him at that point
i know before fletcher got fired the rumors were flyers were willing retain some salary but wanted a decent return but fletcher was pretty useless im not sure what briere is cooking up for hayes if anything

but yeah if the jets are going into a rebuild hayes probably doesnt go there but if they wanted to try and keep winning he could be a reasonably cheap 2c replacement
