What I mean is that she should stand by her bio instead of trying to run from it. Something along the lines of "Yes, my personal connections might have given me a minor headstart 30 years ago. Since then, I rose and rose and rose through countless ranks, all the way to the US Senate, because I really am that good."

I wouldnt be obsessed with her sex life if she had an impressive track record in recent years. But she doesnt.

In reality, she slept her way up at the start of her career, then underperformed like crazy in her 2010 AG run, then angered both progressives and conservatives during her time as AG, then ran a horrible campaign for president which flopped really hard, then got the nomination as VP anyway because she was the only black woman with a national profile and sufficient vetting. She's a clumsy politician, her ideology and policies and antics all totally suck, and soon, she might be one heartbeat away from becoming POTUS.

This is actually really good self-awareness. I think if more people could self-reflect, they'd be able to understand the big picture better. I find myself having to check myself a lot when it comes to my biases.

I don't think her political career STARTED with Willie Brown. She was already working the DA's office for several years before meeting him. Her appointments certainly helped, but it's probably not a big deal. I agree that her record sucks but I don't think it's particularly terrible either. She's not UNQUALIFIED for the position but she's definitely not the most qualified either. A lot of it comes down to intangibles which she has a lot of.

Perhaps you're right. I would suck so hard as a politician, I'm far too straightforward and willing to say unpopular things.
