It's a weird tendency for sure.
I mean, it's perfectly reasonable to just argue Kamala won't be a good president based on her policy viewpoints, or perhaps her experience. But right-wingers have to take it to this strange place where a romantic relationship when she was younger is supposed to define her life's work. It's bizarre... definitely sexist, perhaps racist. I think it shows how hollow and corrupted the right-wing is, because even sometimes-reasonable people on that side resort to this silliness.
No one ever claimed that her romantic relationship when she was younger defines her entire life's work. But couple it with her electoral underperformance, her polarizing stint as AG, her shitty policy views and being quite literally the Affirmative Action VP and it becomes a coherent narrative against her; and the Willie Brown saga is one important puzzle piece in it.
