He hasn't been bad at all draft wise in recent years. 2017 was easily his worst draft, but since then he has hit with some nice picks. Especially day 3 where he has drafted as well as anyone with some gems.

The big ones early on are what hurt, like Raegor over Jefferson in the first round. JJAW over Metcalf in the second round is not even something we should be mad about because Metcalf failed his medical with the Eagles and was taken off the board.

Overall he's a very good GM, but sometimes he tries to outsmart himself and ends up looking stupid. Sometimes it's just a matter of taking the obvious pick which he finally did last year with Devonta Smith in the 1st and Landon Dickerson in the 2nd and they're both home run selections.

Yeah that makes sense. He's a top 10 GM at least.

He also wouldn't be the first GM to suffer from Big Brain Syndrome.

That was definitely a colossal mistake and one of the most glaring 1st round busts Howie has had. When you look at who went right after him, it only makes it worse.

Team would be drastically different but I don't think they would have ended up getting Devonta the following year (not that Smith is better than Jefferson because he isn't) but it would be Jefferson playing with no other good WR in Philly. I do think it helped Jefferson (initially) to play alongside Adam Thielen, which wouldn't have been the case here

Howie absolutely nailed the 2021 draft in the first 3 rounds though

e-gals will only get better every year building though the draft like dey are.

but u know the 1st in the nfc east never repeats. i dont see the g-men making it, until they move on from their over drafted QB and RB.

but who knows...
