If the tune isn’t conservative then yes. Intake temps are the biggest hurdle, some people mitigate it by water/meth, some with e85, some just pull lots of timing. These will heat soak when pushed repetitively (track days, back to back dyno), so intake temps get very hot, around 180-190F @9psi in hot climates (on the smaller 1.6L unit). The bigger blower I got doesn’t produce as much heat so I’m hoping it’s not as bad, e85 should cool the cylinders a little as well.
All in all it’s still safe as long as you have a tuner who has dealt with this platform.
