well on the bright side it's looking like Omricon might be the transition to COVID becoming like a milder seasonal flu. but given how case loads are expected to blow past Delta peaks we'll probably get one big (hopefully last) clusterfuck of hospitalizations which is what's prompting renewed restrictions. so I don't really blame them for clamping down on large gatherings.

I don't understand why they don't just make the World Cup the big tourney, they can do it if they try. Just stick with it and after 3-4 tourneys it'll feel like the real deal.

The last one they did had no chance with the Mickey Mouse crap they tried to pull off... Team Europe and Team Young Stars.

In the 70's/80's/90's the World Cup was the tourney everyone cared about, we can get back to that.

NHL & IIHF can run it together and pocket the money instead of the IOC.

the world cup is great, dont get me wrong, but there is something special about the olymipics that just cant be made up for
