If KK isn't gonna put it together it's a win. Next year; it's a win. Future; toss up. If KK continues to be the player he is, he'll be out of the league by 30. Bergevin made the most of a bad situation. KK was worth 6 mil over three years, not 6.1 over 1.

Have to agree. It just stings losing a 3rd overall pick.

With Dennault gone Dvorak is going to get a chance to be a centerpiece.

Have not seen him play much because Arizona games are rarely on TV.

Cant really get into who won this saga until we see how both players perform.

I dunno, Habs lost their 2018 3rd overall pick for a late 1st and a 3rd. They wouldn't have taken that deal 2 weeks ago, but were forced into it on the Canes' terms and mocked the whole way. Hebs saying not paying 6m for him is a win misses the point, because the Canes' made it come to that number. Saying Habs take anything but a big L here is a stretch imho.

The 3rd overall pick is a sunk cost, can't look at it that way.

Right now KK is a young 3rd liner with 2nd line potential. A 1st and 3rd is a fine return for that and 6.1M is way too much to pay for that salary wise.

This.

Virtanen was a top 10 pick but fans were begging him to be traded for a 2nd when he was at his best...

I agree 100%

Hated Gudbranson when he was on the Canucks.

Refused to fight or play physical against his former team mates in Florida despite the fact Petey was body slammed as a rookie the previous game.

He was supposed to be a tough player but we did not see much of that. He was frequently injured and finished his last season in Vancouver with the worst +/- on the team.

Was so happy when he was traded away.

If you're big and can speak in cliches you're guaranteed a bottom-pairing spot (maybe even top 4) in some NHL teams regardless of your actual play thanks to Old Boys' Clubâ„¢ GM's who think size = toughness. To think Gudbranson once had a contract just like Edmunson's and Gavrikov's LOL
