Strange to see Brassard sign for a cheap one year deal.

Not long ago he was playing great for the Rangers in the playoffs.

His play has really gone downhill lately but there is no risk with a 1 year deal so I see it as a good move.

He can only improve his stock there and doesn’t need to clear waivers to do so.
The biggest reason his value is low is because he must clear waivers to be assigned to AHL, and he needs to play minutes to improve. So how is he going to play minutes in and improve in North American when he’s not capable of top 6 minutes. Go to Europe and finish developing.

This is the best case scenario for Edmonton.

/e people forget how young he is, he was eligible for the 2016 draft by days. This coming year is the first pro hockey he will play being over 20 years old.

No MT turned 21 several weeks before Christmas, JP turned 21 after this season was over. MT has played 60? games at 21 years old , JP has yet to play a game at 21. JP is closer in age to guys drafted in 2017 and was weeks away from not being eligible for the 2016 draft.
