yeah but i thought u could send down guys before a certain date and they didnt have to clear
that kinda sucks he was a potential nhler that flyers got as an undrafted UFA developed him and then tampa steals him when hes about to hit his peak
its like they did all that developing on the guy for fuck all now tampa gets to reap the benefits of flyers development on a player :(

It depends on his age when he signed his first nhl contract and the number of nhl games played. After a minimum # of games is hit based on when he first signed a contract a player must clear waivers anytime he’s assigned to minors. I’m having a hard time figuring out the formula for a guy who’s only played 4 nhl games and is 23 tho I admit it seems like he should have been exempt.

2-way, maybe teams can send players through waivers anyways?
Otherwise theres no reason lol

Danick Martel signed a one year, two way deal, with the
@NHLFlyers
at $715 000.

One way and two way has nothing to do with waivers.

It's just a salary thing.

Under NHL rules, the Lightning are now obligated to keep Martel on their NHL roster to open the season. He must spend 30 days or appear in 10 NHL games

interesting they are forced to keep him on the roster for 30 days or play 10 games before they can waive him down to the ahl if they wanted
i never knew there was a rule like that for waiver claims o.O

Shea Theodore signs a 7 year contract with a 5.2 mill AAV,which leaves only William Nylander and Nick Ritchie without a contract going into final week of camp

I don't think it's as simple as dollars.

Very well could be a conflict of personalities. Another Drouin situation, where he thinks he would be more valuable given the opportunity to shine.

Problem with that is that he has an equal chance to fall flat elsewhere as he does to shine.

Young and dumb once, gotta remember these are 23 year old kids
