Until we switch from man defense to zone, we have zero chance defending against the avs. They skate around the zone and set picks until we tire out and it ends in a goal against or penalty.

Why are we so unwilling to try to defend differently.

TBF not many teams can defend the Avs.

Blues outscored them at even strength in their 8 games, but our pk was like 50% vs them. We can hang if we play our game, but its hard to rely on that happening with our inconsistencies

Bring on the avs

We all know they'll show up, the question is which blues team will show.

I could see us getting swept in a bunch of lopsided games or winning in 6 or 7

Not sure what'll happen with perron, but it'd be incredibly fitting for our leading scorer to miss a playoff series on the covid list after we dealt with every other team having games postponed last minute and fucking our schedule up all damn year

With perron, probably

Without perron, definitely.

Call me skeptical, but if it was Matthews, McDavid, mackinnon, or stone hitting the covid list, they'd postpone games.

We had to deal with COL twice having games postponed due to covid issues and VGK had games postponed with us due to 1 player and coaches getting covid.

Blues have 3 players (including their leading scorer) go on the covid list in less than a week and I'm not hearing a peep from the NHL.

We were the last damn team in the league to have a player go on the list and all the sudden they dont care.

Kinda fucked up

Yeah I agree they favour teams and the teams stars, not sure what the rules and time line for playoffs tho? Can they postpone games if just a few players catch covid? I can see them doing if like 5+ guys have it

I dont know if there are set rules or numbers, just up to the NHL.

Its in the NHLs best interest to have the series start on time and it's also best for them for COL to win the series.

Not saying COL wouldn't anyway because they prob would, but they've cared enough about player safety and integrity to postpone games all season long for as little as one player testing positive. The regular season games mean less so if they're willing to do that then, why not now?

Just seems like they're choosing to look the other way because the nhl benefits best to do so.

They want to keep their head down and hope for a vgk/col series.

Being an Avs fan I obviously want them to win but Blues always play us tough and I can see the blues going a run again they you guys take us out.

Just looked the schedule and leafs don’t have to start until Thursday for game 1? Now that’s playing favorites lol, they get an extra 4 days rest then any other series

What the NHL would do if it was one of their bigger market teams going through this is postpone games til Friday. They'd say they were doing it for safety reasons and assuming no one else tested positive, games would be good go go Friday. Losing a star player for 2 or 3 games is somewhat manageable, but if it was mackinnon, they'd buy as much time as they could knowing he'd back back by game 4 at the latest.

North division isn't over yet. I guess thats why they're waiting.
