good series over all; i was glad to see the blues play much better over their last 3 games than they did the first 3.
They really pushed nashville and if it wasnt for how bad the combination of our PP and PK were, we may have had enough to move on. Oh well, someone has to lose though.
Next season could be the year with a few needed moves:
1. move lehtera and that ridiculous contract armstrong gave him - package a 1st with him to vegas. hes a major hindrance on the ice and drags everyone around him down, and on top of that, hes making 5mil a season.
2. go HARD for a top 6, preferably top line center - i understand you gotta give to get, and we only have a few untouchables. but since we cant develop our own top line center, we have to do something. if we cant get a top center, we at least need another top 6 center to pair with stastny.
3. go HARD for a #3-4 defensemen - pietro and bouwmeester are our top line, parayko is our 2/3, but he needs someone to pair with him that brings more offense and mobility to the game than edmundson. I love what edmundson brings to the table, and hes a #5 that is physical and can shut a line down, but he isnt a guy that can be trusted to help provide offense and puck movement.
Other than that, the rest of it just rests on jake allen. He clearly has the physical tools to be a top 5 goaltender and workhorse in this league. the only thing stopping him is himself. I look forward to seeing his development.
A healthy fabbri, a full year of Yeo implementing his system, and an upgrade at top 6 center, and this team will be one of the top teams in the west again next year.
