Do you think Jagex cares enough to go after a site with 200,000 registered members?

After all, it's their intellectual properties that are being offered.

The reason I ask is because the site is shut down now temporarily ( i hope temporarily )

Also the main creator of the site, seems pretty naive. He has a section dedicated to "Open Letters to Jagex"

Basically in a nut shell: Pleading to keep his site from being shut down.

Yes it will get shut down, just like Konami shut down In The Groove for Dance Dance Revolution's intellectual Property.


Only if 2006scape actually starts making money off it though.

They already are making loads of cash bro.

the creator is charging 2$ OR MORE a person, if you want to test out his beta, that is nothing more than a RS private server with his 2006scape name on it.

I do admit the site is rather well done tho. it's a copy of the original .

And if you want to see how many people donated, check out the forum. almost every poster is a 2$ + donator.

Yes...To play the pre-alpha BUGTESTING Beta.
Which means after the pre-alpha is over all stats/items are reset. so who cares? I donated so itll be up a lil faster.

There is no way in hell that he needs to charge 2$ for a game engine / client that has existed for 10 years (private server sources)

Also wouldn't surprise me if he ends up getting taken to court and having to pay huge fines.

If you're going to do something for the community thats open source, fine. but don't charge people to take part in it when you don't even have proof that it will be legally allowed.

The site was legit yep but what hes doing is 100% illegal.

Other people have tried this but not on a huge scale. I imagine he has the attention of Jagex by now.

I wouldn't be surprised if the site is down because of a court order.

Jagex sued those botting guys for 1 million I believe?

And this guy is charging 2$ to take part in his tests and thats not even a guarantee you'll be playing it.

So hes selling something that he doesn't even own the rights to.
