I think Metcalf provides the most "instant offense" if you want to call it that, because of his possible big play ability. Hes got the straight line long speed, that's without question. Shows up in game and in testing, so there's always that possibility. But like you said, if he can't read a Defense, or at least run an extra route or two, it's not going to matter much. Hes definitely got more strength than Patterson and Perriman though. Those guys were all straight line speed, much like Metcalf, but at least Metcalf has shown the ability to beat the press with his strength/hands.
To respond to your edit in the other post...
I don't think Hockenson would fall that far, he's a complete player. Maybe the cleanest player in this draft honestly. I'd be pleased with him at #7 and I don't think that'd surprise anybody.
Fant could be there at 22, he's more of a straight line TE though. He can block (which is a must for a TE at Iowa), but his game is more along the lines of running across the field untouched. He has a lot of drops and only has like 3 broken tackles in his career. Get him running in space with a LB and it's likely game over though.
