Might want to revise the feeder builds... pumping all str on a fighter/barb that uses say polearms would be stupid... really should just say see above ratios for stats rather than generalize everything...

I wouldn't recommend anyone to use heavy weapons, especially not new guys

Two simple questions: for a Barb, does it matter whether I use swords or clubs? It would seem that with the initial stats and pumping into STR and using STR items, clubs would work best with the needed ratios. But would both be just as good if I stated accordingly (3:1 ratio) for swords? I already have a fighter started and have swords for that so that would be easiest :)

Second question: if swords are equally as good as clubs for barbs, how should I go about accruing the necessary stats? For example, should I pump into dex and use the STR armors/charms that I have from my fighter build? OR should I stat STR and get dex equipment to prepare for further classes that are dex heavy?

Thanks very much for your help, and great guide! Helped me originally with starting my Fighter :)

Doesn't really matter, there aren't any proven statistics that show you are better if you follow the ratio like a bible. I tried both max str and 3:1 on both barb/samu/paladin/ninja while using swords and there wasn't any big difference in any of the climbs.

You can go with both here, it doesn't really matter. If you are already using swords then you should stick to your strength gear since it'll be useful for samu and paladin as well. ^_^

Agreed & Vouched and all that jazz, I also experimented this a bunch with my sword set and found the same thing to be true.

In the end I just stuck with maxing strength and not worrying so much about the ratio, it was less I had to keep track of for very similar results, either way I was doing enough damage to get to MQ.

GG guide of course.
