You could opt for pure strength stating and using Dex gear... which equals out the 50/50 ratio.
On another note, I am not sure if they fixed the Axe ratios... basically you can go:

Full Str with Str Gear
Full Dex with Dex Gear
50/50 Dex / Str using stats and stat gear

All of the above will do the same identical damage... this is what was proven awhile ago... but I have not heard if this has been fixed.

So... either way when using axes... you can do what you want.

My understanding is this... pump strength and use Dexterity gear... considering when you pass Paladin... all characters except Headhunter are Dexterity orientated... so
it goes with common sense to get dex gear for those classes... even a samurai will use dex gear when using Daggers.

Thanks for the feedback so far

I preferred going all int when I played mage, even with low-medium gear. IMO mana > life when you can hide behind a tank or two. ;)

Going all Int is fantastic when you're in a group, guaranteed. But if there is a possibility of solo, or that's what you just prefer, like myself, no less than 5 points into Vita becomes a necessity. However, this is aimed to help beginners, and I doubt many of them will solo, since they can't recall the days before the catacombs were introduced, and you had no other option than solo...

imo yes, if you don't want to get kicked out of groups and if you want to be able to kill more than two monsters when soloing :P

It helps when you solo or if you plan on playing a tank :)

At least I do not let people RIP with those builds...
And only 2 Rips in full groups and never ripped Solo with my build.
Try harder bud.

The thing is I tried to stay away from hybrid builds since they suck more often than not, especially for new people without good enough gear. The one exception is my paladin build since as previously mentioned its my favorite. :P

However I have to admit I've never really played a Guardian so I'm not at all trying to say you're wrong, I appreciate your input. ^_^

Hybrid Guardians are hard without great gear... and yes Paladins are pretty dang nice being Hybrid.

Hope to get my Guardian setups soon... have been dabbling with a mixture of builds
for solo'ing & group... having decent damage to be welcomed into a group while healing.
As for tanking... that again is another story.

Once again... very insightful guide and short.
