tanner pearson is what's coming back

also a bad contract right now but it's way easier to hide a soft winger than a defenseman who can't defend

Gudbranson will most likely be injured and not helps Pitts out.

Furthermore he takes foolish retaliation penalties and gets deked out frequently.

Never was much of a fan tbh. Glad he is gone along with that contract.

Dahlen for Karlsson is a strange one. I though he was supposed to play with Petey down the road?

Maybe we figure we need D for than forwards so there is a good the guy we got turns out to be a regular.

What I really want is a big forward with finish in front of the net. The powerplay needs that net presence. The cost for those types of players was too high though.

/e playoffs have slipped away so we need to make moves that help us next year, not in current time.

Pearson showed he could play under the right circumstances. Maybe he will work out for us. He is still young enough to try to coach/develop into being a top 6 for our team imo, even if thats not the case for other teams.

i think gudbranson will play a lot better for pits, their team is good and they'll be able to shelter him properly. All they need is his toughness during playoffs, nothing much else since others can carry.

Also Dahlen traded for Linus Karlsson. Apparently Dahlen's agent asked benning if it was possible for him to be traded few weeks ago. Dahlen didn't feel like he fit in with Cull's development.
feelsbadman :(

The Dahlen trade is a curious one. If he wanted out fine, but the prospect we got back seems very much a long-shot. You'd think Dahlen had better value.

As for Gudbranson, it's addition by subtraction. The contract we got back is almost identical but Pearson has had a history of being a decent player (only one year removed from a decent year, two years removed from a good year) so there's some potential there at the very least.

Yeah i agree, though i get the feeling canucks probably wanted to draft him originally, but SJ took him after trading 2 of their picks to trade up.
There was no need for Benning to trade Dahlen early anyway, he had all the leverage. So they must really have high hopes for karlsson.

Was also nice to see Schenn play how we hoped Guddy would play. He played a simple/physical game. If he keeps it up, he may stick around
Travis Green on Luke Schenn: "Impressive. You know, I haven't seen him a lot, and haven't seen him play for a while in the league. I thought he was simple, solid, moved the puck well, closed on guys hard, was good around our net. He did a nice job tonight."

I wonder where Pearson would fit in, Bo seems to click well with Leivo and Spooner. Maybe Spooner may be bumped off his line?

Leivo - Horvat - Pearson
Goldie - Petey - Boeser
Roussel - Gaudette - Spooner
Granny/Motte - Beags - Eriksson

The Calgary Flames had a offer on the table to the Vancouver Canucks for defenceman Alex Edler that “blew them away”, per Jason Botchford.

It was contingent on Edler signing a contract extension with the club and he ultimately decided against it.

lol that woulda felt so weird

Strange they would want him with Giordano and Hanifin already on the left side.

I imagine the offer was one of their good young D prospects + a pick.

probably more if it's a "blown away" offer.
Apparently CBJ and Pens were also trying to get him as well
