I think this guide is usefull, but some mistakes should be corrected.
I just performed some Hit-sequences against Hell Baal P8.
Setup = Infinity eth GT 340ed / Andy 35ias
lvl 98 might merc
Average # hits to kill :
Fortitude = 433
Treachery = 495
Average time to kill :
Fortitude = 112.5 sec
Treachery = 109 sec
Average time to kill under decrepify :
Fortitude = 164.5 sec
Treachery = 148.5 sec
Average # hits to kill with lvl 35 Concentration:
Fortitude = 359
Treachery = 393
Average time to kill :
Fortitude = 93 sec
Treachery = 86.5 sec
Average time to kill under decrepify :
Fortitude = 136 sec
Treachery = 118 sec
These figures are accurate ONLY for the average number of hit to kill.
Actual time to kill is much more longer :
Baal knock back merc with his cold wave
Baal put merc into recovery animation
Baal freeze merc with cold attack
merc miss some hits (cth are still good with -83%def on Infinity)
merc hit tentacles or fake Baal instead of true Baal
It can easily be 10 minutes or more.
But the fact is Treachery is better than Fortitude against P8 Baal.
In P1 games, Fortitude remains faster than Treachery against Baal (except with lvl 35 concentration, but what Hammerdin would have infinity on merc?).
An etheral Gladds soc 15ias/15@res would probably be better than all vs Hell Baal :
- CbF provides faster attacks
- 30%fhr helps to reach next breakpoint over Treachery (5 bp over Fortitude)
- high def will decrease number of recovery animations
- 50ias (andy+eGladds) would allow 5fpa (7fpa when decrep'd), just inbetween Forti and Treach.
hm..
