If you plan on hooking up both voice coils up on both subs, you're looking at 0.5 ohm, 2 ohm, or 8 ohm. (1 ohm or 4 ohm, per sub, which cuts in half when you have 2 subs)

I highly suggest 2 ohm, I dont know much about the monoblock Crunch amps (I have a 1000-4 myself, ran @ 4 ohm) so just double check the specs. I doubt it'll be able to handle .5ohm.

its stable at 1 ohm
figured i could use it the some as a 2 channel amp, seeing as this has two channels, but I'm guessing all that is, is one + and one - split into two, making it easier for one to hook the subs up

Yup. I would hook it up @ 2 ohm though, and not .5ohm.

well, instead of getting a higher output amp, wouldn't it be smarter to get two of the dual 4 ohm subwoofers so that it would allow me to run them at the 1 ohm load, letting me use the same subwoofers and amp?

If the amp is 1 ohm stable, yes.

i can't find the exact statement that says so, but the last crunch amp i had gotten was stable at 1 ohm
