Didn’t know the injury status of those 2 guys but idk if it matters, ltir isn’t cap erased instantly when you place a guy on reserve. It’s relief against the max cap hit if your close to cap and have players who qualify for ltir.
you can only get 1 mil relief for smith by sending him down , the remainder counts against cap.

We're not paying Smith 2.5M to play in the AHL. If he doesn't get claimed he'll be on the roster 99% sure.

And I'm not sure I understand what you mean in your top paragraph but if a team wanted to compete they would put McArthur and co on LTIR and spend their money else where.

Ltir only kicks in once you go over the cap basicly, so they won’t affect making the floor of the cap. That’s why teams like Phoenix wanted pronger. Injured so don’t have to pay him but his salary counts against cap so you can make the floor with minimum actual $ out of owners pocket.

holy damn Chabot is going to have more pressure on him than a 21 year old should have, he's going to learn quick and he certainly looks like he's capable so far, I just can't believe Cody Ceci can be considered our #1 D right now :rofl:

We need Wideman to play well, but it's going to take him a few weeks i think

Sounds like Melnyk might be the one who forced Dorrion to waive Smith. I mean, Smith suck and he's overpaid but the fact that our coach didn't want him waived pretty much tells you how Melnyk is controlling the hockey ops <_<

Everyone already knew this lol, Dorion is a puppet who does whatever he's told so he can keep his job

It's really shitty lol we need Eugene to sell the team but I don't know if it will happen
