Trap is an offensive and defensive system that relies on turnovers to create favourable (odd-man) offensive opportunities.
I did not say they won’t forecheck
I said on offensive opportunities , when in procession of the puck, they don’t attempt to create chances that are not there.
A safe dump in to return pocesion to the opposition is favourable over an attempt to beat a man 1v1 to create an offensive chance.which is exactly what Twax was complaining about. Unwillingness to try create chances when in pocesion but not already in an odd man rush situation.
