As a Ottawa local and sens fan I'm so dissapointed ... like heart broken

We don't play exciting hockey like (Pens Avalanche etc)
Teams figured out our trap system
Anderson is beginning to become Swiss cheese
Might lose EK cause owner is cheap wallet
Too many overhype under perform players (Bobby Phaneuf Brassard Burrows Ceci)

Just upsets me that even our future looks shit ..

Oh well, let's just go for a hight pick this season and take another shot next year with a healthy ( hopefully ) Karlsson.

Meh I don't even mind the supposed trap that we play. We force other teams to make mistakes and we used to capitalized on them.

I don't like how passive we are WITH the puck though, always making the boring safe play. We look scared to hold on to the puck and make a mistake.

That’s pretty much the trap tho

The trap is when the other team have the puck smartass.

You can still try to create plays once you have the puck even though you're playing the trap.

The trap is never taking an offensive chance.
Always making the safe out and resetting the play hoping the next round opposition makes an error on an offensive attack leading to an odd man rush.

Season is over lol. I would always prefer to be in the playoffs but if we have to get a top-10 (maybe top 5) it seems like this is a good year to do it.

I'm hoping some good can come from this, selling off some garbage would be nice. Ryan, Hoffman, Ceci, Burrows. Honestly anyone but Stone and Karlsson I would be ok if we moved them

The trap is to clog up the middle without the puck to force turnovers and counter attack. Twax is saying once we get the puck we don't do shit with it. As an Oilers fan you really wouldn't know about structure

Yes that’s the trap. When a turnover occurs and it’s a even numbered attack the attacking team playing the trap makes a safe play that prioritizes not giving up a counter chance. Which is exactly what Twax said he wasn’t happy with. If the turnover didn’t result in a breakaway or 2on1 the trapping team would rather give the puck back than try beat a defender 1v1 or anything remotely risky.

Trap is a defensive tactic that teams do without the puck.... are you seriously suggesting that a trap team will not forecheck unless they get a breakaway or a 2 on 1?

LOL we're done here
