Ufa's are not required to be protected since they can negotiate with all teams. I guess a better way to say it is no one would use a protected spot on a ufa since it protects nothing.

I am hoping Vegas picks Plekanec... would like to see Hudon play this year.

They probably end up picking Hudon though.
